We are delighted to confirm that the full day review of how ethical production is made in the heart of Haringey has resulted in an excellent video with Park View School.
Part of the N17 Creative Callings remit is to contact schools and colleges to provide career and learning advice about how fashion works from an industry perspective.

On 21st March 23 Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) opened their doors to welcome Andry Moustras the Young and Community Manager from Collage Arts to provide a deep dive into how fashion garments are created.
This involved a full day at FEL with CEO Jenny Holloway providing insights into areas such as:
- Modern Slavery Act
- What does ethical trading really mean
- What are the audits behind a factory that retailers insist on for transparency
- The garment life cycle from idea generation to final garment delivery to a retailer
- Jobs within fashion
- How to apply for jobs and raise your profile
- Courses and qualifications within the fashion sector
- Overview of FEL’s different programs including N17CC, Affordable Workspace and Newtown College
- Apprenticeships and what to do next if you want a career in fashion
- Fabrics and finishes

During the course of the day the students visited the three units at Haringey and followed the life cycle of a garment around the factory and each individual department.
FEL CEO Jenny Holloway commented; “It was an absolute pleasure to invite the students from Park View School to our Haringey site. They were very concerned about the cost of fashion on our planet, and in particular the negative impact of fast fashion and flying garments around the world to satisfy instant gratification of buying now and receive next day. Questions on quality and ethics were well constructed by the students and they were literally appalled to think that so many unworn and recycled garments literally end up in landfill both in the UK and “dumped” in African nations too.
“There was a big debate about not all fast fashion is bad! FEL regards fast fashion as speed of response fashion whereby we can create a garment from idea generation to delivery within just 2 weeks and this is how retailers can then maximise their returns rather than buying 1000s of garments from India, China or Morocco and then flying them back to the UK. There is a lot of real advantages of working with the FEL and other UK based factories.”
